We’re excited to share with you some incredibly exciting news for the Reaching Bobo project! During the months of January and February, Mission Joint Venture International (MJVI) will be matching all gifts given towards the new church plant in Bobo-Dioulasso up to a total of $7,500! MJVI is a group of businessmen who love Christ and His work around the World. They work with missionaries and churches to financially advance that work. And now they have decided to partner with all of us to help reach the city of Bobo with the Gospel! So what does this mean for you? It means that for the next two months, every investment you make in the new church plant will be doubled! If you give $500, MJVI will give $500, making your investment now worth $1000. A $100 investment becomes $200. A $1000 investment becomes $2000! And they are going to match everything up to a total of $7,500. So if we are able to raise $7,500 during these two months and they match that with $7,500, we will have a gain of $15,000 for the new church plant! If you have felt God leading you to give and invest in the Reaching Bobo project, now is the time to do it! All donations can be sent to Vision Baptist Missions at: P.O. Box 442 Alpharetta, GA 30009. You can make checks out to Vision Baptist Missions and put Burkina Faso Church Fund in the memo lines. You can also give online at visionmissions.com. Then, shoot me an e-mail at email@example.com, letting me know how much you are going to invest so I can inform MJVI. Let us pray and work to match the love and generosity of MJVI and allow God to use us to do great things for Him!
As we rejoice over the victories that God has given at the church in Zagtouli, we are keeping an eye on the future and the work that still needs done in Burkina. God has greatly burdened our hearts for the second largest city of Burkina Faso, Bobo-Dioulasso. Bobo is a city that is predominately Muslim, but there is still a lot of tribal, animistic religion in the city and surrounding areas. Surrounded by several other large towns, Bobo and the surrounding area are home to over a million Burkinabés. Yet there is very little, if any, Gospel light reaching the people of this city. We are excited to be able to go to Bobo when we return from our furlough to continue to start churches and train men for the ministry!
What is the need?
The biggest need is prayer. Pray for God to open doors for us as we go to the city. The right contact can make a huge difference in getting settled in and finding land. Pray for God to start working in the hearts of people in Bobo. Pray that God will raise up pastors for the churches.
Another big need is the financial side. Our long term goal is to establish strong churches in Bobo who will be able to start more churches. But until we have that, we ask for your help. We will need to buy land and build the church buildings. During our furlough, our goal is to raise $75,000. Here is a breakdown of those needs:
- Land: $30,000
- Building (construction/architectural work): $35,000
- Taxes/permits: $10,000
Lord willing, we will be able to complete the first church for less than this. Any money that is left over will be kept in the Burkina Faso Church Fund for the next church in Bobo.
All money sent to this account will be used only for land and buildings to start new churches. You can either send a one time investment for this project or support the Burkina Faso Church Fund on a monthly basis. If you would be interested in investing in the new ministry in Bobo, you can send gifts to Vision Baptist Missions at:
